The original property photographs describe York Woods Center. The maps and history describe Elkhart’s wider downtown riverfront. No measured walking connection between the property and a downtown trailhead is asserted.
Routes and maps
- Elkhart County Biking & Walking Guide (2017), pp. 28–29. Source of the 1.7-mile downtown loop and the first map. Map panel extracted from the published page; route geometry and legend are unchanged. The dated guide is historical context, not a current accessibility or closure report.
- City of Elkhart River District Implementation Plan (Spring 2018), p. 38. Source of the Civic Space Network map. Map and legend extracted from the published page. It is clearly identified as a planning proposal, not a map of completed construction.
- City of Elkhart interactive parks map, linked from the current Parks & Recreation page. Offered as an external interactive map, without adding an unverified trail overlay.
The development story
- City Comprehensive Plan, adopted February 2, 2015, §6.5. Dates the opening of NIBCO Water & Ice Park to 2007.
- JPR: Elkhart Riverwalk. Firsthand design account of the bridge underpass, riverbank stabilization, pedestrian amenities and planting work.
- City River District Implementation Plan, p. 8. Documents the April 2017 vision, implementation team and $30 million city infrastructure commitment. The timeline describes a commitment, not audited spending.
- “Revitalization of the Elkhart River District,” November 14, 2024, by Jessica Dooms of JPR. Firsthand project account describing the Town Green, riverside pavilion, river access and 1.5-mile Cultural Trail. The date labels the published account, not a claimed opening date for every project.
Photography and film
All ten gallery images are copied unchanged from the supplied York Woods Center South Approach photographs. The opening reuses the existing six-second Hailuo bird-perspective clip, selected by the client. Its imagined viewpoint is atmospheric imagery, not a survey or an accurate rendering of sidewalk geometry. The logo is the existing supplied York Woods Center emblem; the reveal uses a page transition.
The film plays from its existing Hailuo media address. No additional footage was generated and no generation credits were used for this preview. External video availability depends on that address remaining accessible.
